The Department of Surgery incorporates a dedicated Laparoscopic Surgery Unit for the treatment of the most common surgical intra-abdominal conditions.
Indicative procedures include:
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- Laparoscopic appendectomy
- Diagnostic/exploratory laparoscopy
- Laparoscopic hernia repair with mesh (patch repair)
- Laparoscopic excision of intra-abdominal cysts and tumours
